Start of 2021 on Isle of Lewis
Happy New Year to you all. The sun has come out for the New Year so lets hope more good news will follow. Thank you all for looking at the blog. Moira, I have lost your address. You can still use my old one until June ish as there is a redirection. I can then send you my new address. I am hoping we will eventually be able to have visitors in this year.
On New Year's Eve I went to Ness as that was supposed to be the only sunny place for about an hour. Well there were still showers but I had a walk along the harbour beach. Met a lovely bouncy dog with his owner and saw a brave soul swimming.
I went on a long walk on New Year's day. I intended to walk to the wreck which is on part of the Point coast path. However, there were some tricky bits on the way which I didn't want to renegotiate so I carried on to Shulishader and came back via the road.

On Saturday I drove over to Jenny and Murdo's to walk the dogs with Jenny. Not allowed in the house those. Lucky enough to be able to have my first pizza from Crust Like That which is a new venture on Lewis just outside Achmore. They sell out quickly as they are very popular. It was delicious.

I have signed on for 3 weeks online yoga which starts at 6.30am!!! Luckily, I can keep my video off so stay in my nightgear. It means I have a few more hours in the day. I decided to get out one day while I can since we are not in lockdown, yet. The weather on Tuesday was forecast dry. I drove over to Uig. It was a beautiful day.

Near the back of Ardroil sands. The sheep thought I was there to feed them and crowded around. I kept the one with the horns in. |

On the Crowlista road, I spotted this family walking on the estuary. |

Stopped off on the way back near the junction to Gt Bernera as the reflections in the lochs were just ripe for a photograph.
Lots of patterns and abstracts to take |
Drove back via the Pentland road just in case deer or an eagle were about. None but it is such a scenic road it is always worth taking it.

On 17th January I did my first 'count' for Wader survey at Loch Innis which is in Bayble. A lovely walk to the loch and on to another nearby loch. However no birds seen on either loch! I took a few images. I have been practising textures after a great presentation by Jane Lazenby so you may see a few in the following.

the sheep seem to think I am going to feed them. This has had a tweed layer overimposed |
Finally we had a good sprinkling of snow and I had a long walk in Lews castle grounds. All gone now and the sun is shining. Although we are not in lockdown here, I try to keep my expeditions to a minimum. Enjoying seeing what is coming up in the garden. Discovered a host of daffodil bulbs.
