Singing course at Stones Barn Cumbria

Back from a good value course at Stones Barn with Maddy Prior and Rose-Ellen Kemp "A week of Vocal Technique and Song." Christina Shewell was a guest tutor and she added another perspective to the course.  We did not go hungry on this course.  Nette served up delicious meals whilst also managing to join in the course.   I learnt a lot about the voice, singing, improved confidence, heard some lovely singers, met loads of new friends and explored a part of the country, I had only passed through in the seventies (walking the wall).  If you are interested in singing, then there is a similar course with all the above in March 2018 being held at Halsway Manor, Somerset.  See https://halswaymanor.org.uk/event/maddy-prior-song-weekend/

I travelled with my friend Veronica, who had found the course.  We went up on Sunday, staying at the Holiday Inn, Lancaster before meeting up with everyone on Monday at lunchtime to start the course.  Free time between end of course and dinner and again on Thursday afternoon so I had that time for photos.

I think this is a hoverfly snapped in the path by Stone Barns

There was a craft market on at Lanercost Priory.  These markings were on the walls of the building it was held in

Hare

These are three snaps of many I have of the hare running.  It has a leaf in its mouth and eats it on the move

Take a bottle, put a ribbon around it, fill it with water and keep it for your use on the course

We left late Sunday afternoon and had a good drive back.  Except for the beginning when I killed two large rabbits (I hope they weren't hares).  One ran in front of my car just past Bewcastle and one into the side of my car.

Next post will probably be in October after I have been in Port Isaac with Yvette's choirs singing with Gulls Aloud.
