Cornwall after Christmas 2016

I wanted to take some more abstract coastscapes and decided to stay a few days on the Cornish Coast.  Stayed at Elements in Bude near Widemouth Bay - an excellent hotel with a good Italian restaurant.  Drove down on Tuesday 27th and had enough time to take a few snaps at Widemouth Bay before checking in.  Dropped into Bude and walked along the canal into the nature reserve and visited the harbour before my parking ticket expired.  The sunset was looking good and I was lucky enough to get back to the hotel in time to take some images.

Up early on Wednesday but the sunrise was not as spectacular due to the absence of clouds.  Drove to Polzeath and experimented with slow motion shots.  Then back along the coast via Boscastle.  We used to come here for holidays with my parents.  The shop with the tree pottery was still going - I have some small vases from 40 years ago and bought another as a souvenir.   The sunlit cliffs were reflecting in Boscastle harbour which made for some lovely abstracts.  Back to the hotel for another good dinner.

On Thursday, I walked the circular walk along the coast into Bude and back along the canal to Widemouth Bay.  Stopped off for coffee at the Olive Tree in Bude and lunch at the Weir at Whalesborough.  Another good day for abstracts.
