East Quantoxhead Open Gardens

A suggestion from my friend Susan, encouraged me to visit Coleridge's Cottage at Nether Stowey last Sunday with Susan, Glenys and Sandra.  We went to the Lutterell's home Court House at East Quantoxhead to the Open Gardens.  Had a wonderful time strolling around and snapping.

This dog was in a cottage in Nether Stowey.  When we returned to the car, someone had put a vase of flowers on the window sill, no doubt to discourage the dog from standing there.

Susan sat and sketched this view

The woodland garden was a real find

Caldicot Castle Fortress Wales re-enactment day

Thanks to Pauline for mentioning this re-enactment day at Caldicot Castle, Wales and for driving Glenys and I.  We had a fabulous Sunday wandering around history and taking lots of photos.

This German soldier pointed out the badge which shows his real loyalty.

Playing to the camera

We spent an enjoyable time listening to these vikings.  A group shot with Pauline and Glenys
One with the chain mail

There were plenty of stalls selling outfits

These native American re enactors were also very interesting

Watching the archers - or not
The arrow from the archer in brown is flying past the archer in white.  If you click on the pic you should be able to spot it

I took a few of these Irish wolfhounds.  One of the pup watching cigarette smoke does not want to upload!

I spotted this image while we were having a much needed cup of tea
