A day out at the Tate

This is not strictly a holiday post but I thought I would share the photos of my day out with my friend Amanda at the Tate. If you get a chance to visit soon, go. I thought the earthquake crake in the Turbine Hall was amazing. Amanda and I then walked over the Millennium Bridge, through the city to Covent Garden and back to Waterloo. I think the round trip from Waterloo is one of my favourite walks in London.

Isle of Lewis 2008

A little delayed in writing up the blog after my last trip. I blame BA, as they lost my luggage for a week. When it was returned there were a number of missing items. 'Missing' is BA's term, I like to use 'stolen'. I am guessing a female thief as all my Clarins, Aveda and a pair of knitting needles were taken. I have since discovered my facial wipes and my Rooisbush teabags have also been stolen. BA think Terminal 5 will solve all their problems!!!! I think I heard all this before when Terminal 4 was opened. Well back to the holiday.

A very comfortable stay as usual at the 'Ghinda' B & B despite both Jenny and Murdo succumbing to the vomiting bug. Poor Murdo had to be carted off to hospital for the night.

Friday 11th January
On the first day we visited two beaches to walk the dogs, Max and Neave. Cliff beach and Manarsta beach.

Saturday 12th January

I went off to Stornoway while Murdo looked after Jenny who had caught the bug Friday evening.

Sunday was spent relaxing and playing Super Scrabble. Actually we managed Super Scrabble every day.

Monday 14th January
Murdo and I set out on a glorious sunny day while Jenny was recuperating. By the time we reached Melbost Borve the rain had set in. Luckily we had waterproofs, so the dogs had their walk. However, no photos of the day.

Tuesday 15th January
Went off to collect Murdo from hospital after a walk around the loch with the dogs. Max is into chewing heather most of the walk.

A few photos of the house, loch and a view from the bathroom window showing the beautiful colours.

Wednesday 16th January

Jenny, Neave and I set off to walk the new boardwalk in Aline. As this only took 15 minutes we went on to Scalasdal and had a lovely walk. Neave found a couple of grouse. I did get a photo but you would need a magnifying glass to find the grouse. Here is Neave surveying all.

Thursday 17th January Jenny and I took both dogs on a walk by Loch Nasgarie. On Friday we walked another beach and as I didn't write this down it has gone from my memory!
