Solo Holidays - skiing in Val di Sole

A change from Alpine Bridge in 2015 and skiing with Solo Holidays in Italy.  I thought I would try a different country and check out the Dolomites.

Left from Gatwick on British Airways.  Met up with Melanie, the Solos rep and the others, Ray, Linda, Paul, Heather, David, Kerry, David, Andrew, Chris, Mark and Nigel at the baggage carousel at Verona airport.  A 2 hour coach drive to Dimaro and our hotel - Hotel Dolomiti.  Early enough to take a walk and some pics.  Then was tempted into Bar Snoopy for a couple of drinks.

On to the slopes on Sunday.  Able to hire skis at the top of the gondola in Folgarida and leave them there each day.

On Tuesday evening after another excellent dinner, Linda, Kerry, Ray, Dave the brave and I went on a pub crawl.  Went to 3 bars - one was shut!  Back in the hotel just after 11 pm - all was quiet.

More skiing on Wednesday but no pics today.

Another great day for Thursday.  There may not be much snow but there are plenty of slopes to enjoy.  We found some empty ones too.

Last day tomorrow and snow is forecast for next week!!!!

Snow arrived for Friday morning so we had a chance to ski in the fresh snow.  However, it kept snowing, the light was poor so we packed up early for lunch and drinks at Hotel Belvedere.

A good value for money holiday.  Skiing has been good.  The hotel is comfortable and not overheated.  If you feel the cold then you will want extra layers.  It was perfect for me.  There is plenty of food.  Bruna and Billy supply endless amounts of different foods when you come off the slopes then there is a three course dinner at 7.30 pm.  The Dolomites is much cheaper than the Alps and the coffee is fantastic.  No complaints from fussy me.  Think I will be back next year.
