RPS Visual Art Group spring weekend in Perth, Scotland

Another excellent weekend with the Visual Art Group.  A shame there were not more people from Scotland and North England.  I went up a day early as I wanted to visit my great aunt in Newport on Tay.  I stayed at Clunie Guest House in Perth - only 5 minute walk into the city.  Dined at La Lanterna - good food and service.  I walked back and snapped a few images.

On Thursday, I checked out and made my way to Dundee to have coffee and a quick look around before going over the Tay Bridge to meet with my aunt.  A good coffee in Empire State Coffee.  I enjoyed looking around in the Dundee Contemporary Art Centre.  Always a bonus when they let you take photos inside.

Had a lovely lunch at the View restaurant in Wormit with my aunt then made my way back to Perth and the Mercure Hotel for the Visual Art weekend.

Teamed up with Tatiana and Mike from Norwick on Friday and went off to Scone Palace.  We wandered the grounds and had lunch in the cafe.  Then it was back to the hotel to hear the two speakers before dinner.

On Saturday we went to Dundee for my coffee then on to Broughty Ferry where we spent a pleasant morning on the beach.  Lunch at a 1930s styled cafe and on our way out we were greeted by the view of a rig being towed into the estuary.  Lots of snaps later then back to the hotel for the speakers.

 We had more time on Sunday as there were no speakers.  Tanya, Mike and I left early to try and visit all our choices.   Mine was the first - to Falkirk to see the Kelpies.  First we stopped off at the Falkirk Wheel.  Tanya was not impressed.  I loved the Kelpies but must return in the evening when they are lit up.  Next stop was Crieff for Mike to have a taste of his favourite whiskey.  We enjoyed lunch at the distillary cafe.  Then to Tanya's choice - the tourist route to Pitlochry and the Hermitage.  A good time was had by all and we made it back for the AGM at 5.30 pm.
