September 2021 on Isle of Lewis

Finally managed to squeeze in some time to update the blog.  Some images of the wildlife I have encountered this month.  You may need to click on the dolphin images to see them.  It was a time I wished I had a larger lens!

Open day at Garrabost mill

Some of the 180 or so house sparrows in my neighbours garden waiting to come into mine when I put out the afternoon feed

Large tree trunk with barnacles washed up at Portvoller  bay

Of course I had to try an abstract

Drove to Scalpay without checking the weather forecast.  Sunny in Lewis, misty and wet in Harris

Stopped off at Portvoller bay taking pics of the tree trunk when the eagle appeared.

Raindrops in the garden

Risso dolphins surfing the waves

One of the six herons on the loch

A view of the Harris hills from the top of the wind turbines on the Pentland road

Some icm images of gannets and small waders below

A cygnet visiting the beach at Eoropie
