RPS Visual Art weekend in Gloucester

The Autumn weekend in Gloucester has been and gone.  I have had a visitor since I have been back so it has taken a couple of windy rainy days to get around to processing images.  I left Lewis on 18th October and spent a couple of days in Melrose Gibson campsite.  It is right in Melrose so no need to have brought my bean stew and there are plenty of restaurants.  I spent a couple of days there as I wanted to visit the Great Tapestry of Scotland in Galashiels.  If you get the chance it is well worth it.  You need 2 to 3 hours to take it in and I needed a break in between.  Afterwards I visited Walter Scotts house and garden.

Went to Tetbury and stayed with friends Susan and Stephen before going to the Holiday Inn in Gloucester where the Visual Art weekend was being held.  On Saturday a few of us went to Westonbirt to snap the colours.  It was absolutely packed.  So different from when I used to walk Susan's dogs there.  We had a very good day and back in time for the presentations in the late afternoon.

On Sunday we were on Benedict Brain's workshop in Gloucester Docks.  I had a great time and learnt lots.

Our usual through a mirror image but without 2 of the Harem

On Monday it was back to the Docks and the Cathedral.  I left after lunch and made my way to the campsite near Birmingham.

Up to Strathclyde Country Park campsite the next day.  There was a row of beautiful wild flowers in the park so I had some fun.

Roe deer snapped as I came back from eating at the pub.

My ferry for the next day was cancelled due to weather and I could not get back from Ullapool until Monday!!  Made my way towards Uig on Skye staying an extra day in the most scenic campsite just outside Glencoe.

The ferry was further delayed and I finally left Skye at 7.30 pm arriving in Tarbert just after 9 pm.  A mad dash over the mountains towards Lewis.  A long line of red lights snaking around the roads.  Back home at 10.30 pm.  Shame I couldn't take a photo but I was trying to keep up with the car in front!
