Columbia, Galapagos and Quito photos
A few photos of flower farms and the people I met when visiting with Debi are included with the Galapagos photos. Unfortunately, I don't think my captions match the photos but I am sure you can all figure it out. Any questions you can always e mail me or if you don't have my e mail, leave a comment.
The underwater ones done with Kodak underwater disposable. Deb got the seal who was playing in front of her and just flipped around. I had to include the penquin catching the fish in front of me even if it was out of focus. The animal in the pink flippers is me of course.
The penquin does have a head - he just decided to scratch his back when I took the shot!
A little gruesome - iguanas eating a dead seal.
The man pushing the flowers is the modern way of transporting them around the farm. I have included a picture further on of the old way.

Canadian experiences
I realise I haven't really mentioned anything of my time in Hudson, Quebec, so here goes with the usual photos. Most of my time has been spent relaxing with my aunt. We go shopping, drink coffee out and have played lots of Rummikub and Sudoku. At last I have a chance to read my books too. My first major experience was my first ride on a motor bike. See the bike in the Celebration of Life bit below. Don had been bugging me to go on his new bike. I guess I was lucky that the ride was a Harley Davidson but I did not enjoy it one bit. Luckily Don only took me for 10 minutes as I was scared out of my life. Sorry Don but that was my first and last ride.
Debi had seen an article in the Miami Herald when we were in Ecuador about dog sledding. She booked it up as soon as we got the first snow of the winter (The snow has gone now and it will be the first green Christmas for around 20 years!!!!). We also went snow shoeing so two first experiences for me in one day. I was in the sleigh so hence the photos of the dog's bums. The mushing was fun too but no photos of me doing that. Debi posed behind the sled while the sleds were all being turned around. The day was a great thrill and if you are here in the winter it is worth going to www.casadventures.com to see their other adventures.
Debi and I went hunting for snow geese. Only photo hunting I hasten to add. We spent an hour or two looking and had given up when we saw them in the field. We tried to get closer but both times they sensed our presence so we had to make do with the zoom lens. Skeins came over while we were watching and I had to stop taking photos to take in the beautiful sight. There have been lots of Canada geese flying from the lake over the house too. I spotted the Nativity scene on this quay, so although out of focus, I thought I would include it. The bison and calf we passed as we were still looking for the geese.
We had a day of 16 degrees then the next an ice storm. I have included a few photos of the result but they really do not do justice to the splendour of the ice on the trees. Although a beautiful sight, the other result of the storm was power outages for loads of people for a day and a half. Luckily we were spared.
Taking Rosy for a walk last week on the field back of the house, we sighted a young raccoon. It sat up in the tree and just stared while Rosy barked. I left it alone but wished, not for the first time, that I had my camera with me. I have included a photo of Rosy with Debi's two corgis, Toby and Buttercup on her's and brother Kyle's land in Ontario.
Some of my time has been looking out for the thieves in the garden. I have included three pictures, one shows the thief diving into the pond while eating the suet! Rosy helps by barking but the thieves are very bold and don't worry too much about us at all.
Next post will be a selection of Galapagos photos. I will probably have family posts after that although I may have some photos of skiing. My travel blog is now really complete.
