Isle of Lewis
Left my cosy Bothy on Harris for Lewis on Saturday. Stopped off to say a brief hallo to my friends at 'Ghinda' - their B & B is recommended if you are ever on the island. Then to Callanish for coffee. Popped into my B & B at Leumadair to tell them I would be late booking in. Luckily my room was ready so I was able to check in then. Drove to Stornoway via the Pentland road - another opportunity to snap the shielings. Parked up in town and a stroll before spending the afternoon and evening at the festival.
It was a drizzly afternoon but still warm enough to stand outside in the wet mist. I saw 'Ho ro' who won a competition to play at Heb Celt - they were great and I will look out for their first CD. Then Dante - another great - I bought their CD. Similar to Proclaimers. Then the best of the day was We Banjo 3. They were fantastic, getting the audience going straight away. I bought both their CDs.
A few more from Lewis before I start the Glasgow Commonwealth Games post. I am starting my Clydesider duties today so hope to update blog each morning. However, I have loads of photos to go through!!!!
On Sunday, I visited Callanish then called on the best B & B on Lewis - Ghinda for coffee. Went for a walk with Neve, Micky and their owners Jenny and Murdo. Caught the ferry early on Monday and drove down to Glasgow.
