Voice of the People choir's trip to Italy
This was the second time the choir had been to the lovely beach town of Sabaudia. My first trip with the choir and hopefully won't be my last. A great time was had by all.
We arrived on Friday, having already sung at Bristol Airport, to a beautiful sunset.
We had a free morning on Saturday after choir rehearsal. Some stayed by the sea and some of us walked into Sabaudia, guided by Brian, who organised the whole trip.
At 13.30 we were on the coach and on to Priverno for a quick look around, more rehearsals and then singing in the cathedral.
On Sunday there was an optional afternoon trip to Monte Cassino, the site of several major battles in WW2. The morning was spent swimming and lazing on the beach.
Back to the hotel for dinner and a dance to a local folk band. An early start on Monday for our trip to Rome before flying home.
Brian guided us from Collosseum to Pantheon and then the Trevi Fountain. I stopped for coffee so lost them and went to the Trevi first - unfortunately it is being renovated. However, it was enjoyable walking around the streets.
4 photos from Ian showing the choir in and outside the cathedral.
Some photos by Lawrence.
Next post will be in November after my photography trip to Cornwall.

I couldn't fit my tripod into hand luggage so made do with a beach table to steady the camera |

In a church on the way back to Trevi fountain. I managed to find something to steady the camera. Unfortunately, two men stood in front of me for awhile, hence you can see their ghosts!!! |
