Myanmar - the RPS Travel Group trip 14th - 28th February Part III Mandalay to Bagan
An early start meant we were on the boat in time to have the seats on deck, under cover. Should be a six hour trip to Bagan but the river was low so we left around 6.30 am and arrived around 4 pm.
We had a morning tour of more temples the next day.
Most of the group stayed at the hotel to chill out in the afternoon. I went with Andrew and Elisabeth for lunch in town and then we tried to find a taxi to go to Old Bagan. None was available so we started to walk when a horse and cart appeared. We negotiated a fair price for a two hour trip. We had to extend to sunset as we kept stopping to take photos. Our driver was happy as he had had no customers all morning and lived near to our hotel.
When I downloaded this one, I noticed the line of monks. Click on the image to spot them. |

Chris chose another sunset temple to the one the tourists usually go to as at this one we would have room for tripods. |

On the way back to the hotel the colours just got better and we had to stop the bus for more photos. |
