Lake District weekend
Traveled to the Lake District for the annual get together with the ex powerwalkers. Actually, Penny and I were the only original women in the group. Joining us were Jane and Rachel from last year's Isle of Wight trip, Linda from Vietnam/Cambodia trip and new to the group, Rosemary and Joan with Buster.
I stopped off at Martin Mere on the way up, for lunch and to look at the geese.
We stayed in a cottage on Coniston water. The first day was a strenuous climb up Coniston Old Man then on to another Wainwright before climbing down.
The next day we had a walk to Tarn Howe - a few steep bits but not as bad as the day before.
We had a shopping expedition at Hawkshead, a visit to Beatrix Potter's office/holiday home and then a stroll around Windamere.
On the return home we stopped off at Kendal then the most visited National Trust property - Dunham Massey.
So ended another great weekend.
