RPS Visual Art Spring weekend in Alnwick
Another good weekend with members of the Visual Art group. There was a workshop arranged for Saturday so an early start. We walked to the back of Alnwick castle with Paul Mitchell who was leading the workshop. Back for breakfast then on to Embleton Bay. Paul was joined by Jeff Teasdale to help out, as there was a lot of us. Jeff suggested we take 10 snaps quickly which helped me decide what I wanted to take. I usually wander around for a few minutes so it was interesting to do something different. In this case the tip worked well.
We went on to Howick, via Craster for a loo stop. I loved the burnt out sofa on the beach. I am doing a project on Found Objects with the Western Region Ilton group and this fit the bill.
On to Alnmouth to finish off the day. Although I have been to Northumberland a few times, I had not visited Embleton or Howick. I would definitely return.
On Sunday, I walked around Alnwick with Mark, Carol and Sam. We met a few other members who decided to stay in Alnwick. First stop Barter Books then on to the castle.
Thanks to Sue and Andreas and the committee for arranging the weekend. As usual a good social time to be with like minded folks and meet new friends.
