New Lanark to Skye
I set off on 25th June on my journey to visit friends in Lewis, Outer Hebrides. I stayed over night at the YHA in New Lanark. New Lanark is a historic mill village. I can recommend a stroll by the river Clyde for views of the waterfalls. Unfortunately, I was too late in the year for good sightings of the peregrine falcons. 2 had fledged on 9th June but I only saw the male parent fly overhead.
I had an early start in the morning but the weather was against me so few stops for photos on the way to Skye. Luckily the rain stopped for a bit and I managed these shots of Eilean Donach castle.
